Community Herdshare
Milk Memberships
Joining as a member directly supports a family herd of sacred cows,
a small regenerative farm, organic agriculture, holistic land management, a spiritual practice of natural tending, and your family’s wellness through this act of helping produce raw food as medicine.
There is a one-time membership contribution of $75.
And the cost of one share is $150 for 10 weeks of raw milk.
Distributed weekly as 1/2 gallon glass jars, pickup or delivery.
We only have 4 shares available during this season.
These membership endowments - seeds of shared stewardship - provide your weekly milk while helping tend directly to the care of the herd, with an opportunity to deepen your relationship with the natural world; these support payments cover land leases, water costs, milk supplies, organic feeds, kelp, minerals, vet visits, and loving attention.

Cultural Values
We tend to a precious family herd of dairy cattle, a unique breed of Gir, whom we’ve been blessed to care for these past seven years. The matriarch is sweet Tuolumne and we’ve been with her for three births, eldest Fawn, her second heifer Willow, and her growing bull calf Grassy Oakley. Tuolumne’s granddaughter, Daffodil Dandelion was born last month, calf to the eldest, Fawn — currently our only heifer producing milk. We ensure her calf receives her needs before offering to share with our local neighbors.
This sacred Hindu breed, also known as Zebu, is renowned for the medicinal healing qualities of their milk. Unlike European varieties, these Asian cattle produce milk rich in therapeutic compounds found nowhere else. Milk has the potential to be a sattvic food, “in the mode of goodness.” —nourishing, ethical, healing. We believe that truly medicinal milk must come from animals treated with dignity; supported to graze freely beneath the sun, rest in the shade, nurse young with gentle maternal care, and revered in love.
Our animals live in rhythm with the land, protected from hunger and stress through daily attentive care, fresh pasture, clean water, shelter, essential minerals. We offer to the cows daily snuggles and songs, scratches, and hugs. Calves grow within the security of their community and we guide grazing through diverse pastures to nourish both the animals and the soil, regenerating the broader ecosystem. Through holistic land practices and seasonal planning, we are restoring landscapes long impacted by neglect and disconnection. In caring for these animals and their home, we build resilience against wildfire, revive the savannah habitat, and reconnect with the ancient cycles of grassland life. Thank you for sharing in this journey with us.
